My primary focus when working with clients is customer-centered web design. In the past, web design has not always been targeted at the end-user. My goal is to fuse marketing-centered and usability-centered issues - emphasizing customers and their tasks.
Over the years, I've developed my own process for creating new websites or rebranding existing ones. I've found the key issue is understanding customers' tasks before designing. To know your customers, you must establish what tasks they do and with what technology they do it.
In steps the iterative design process. Iterative design is a way of quickly brainstorming and prototyping site design ideas without wasting valuable time in implementation of faulty logic.
After defining the design goals, rapid prototyping begins, in which storyboards, scenarios and schematics are created. Once a design is decided upon, production begins. I advocate separating content from presentation, so many of the sites and media objects that I design are scalable and easily changed.
